Announced on a live episode of “American Idol" on April 27, the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden and The White Stripes.
In addition, Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon will receive the Musical Influence Award. Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye will be recognized for Musical Excellence. Well-known producer and DreamWorks/Warner Bros. Records executive Lenny Waronker will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The induction ceremony takes place on November 8 from L.A.’s Peacock Theater and will be broadcast on Disney+ and the next day on Hulu. An edited version will air later on ABC.
Those nominated who will not be inducted this time around include first-time nominees The Black Crowes, Billy Idol, Mana, and Phish. Those not in this time who have been previously nominated include Mariah Carey and Oasis, who were nominated in 2024 the first time, and Joy Division/New Order, who were nominated previously in 2023.
The basic requirement to be inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is that an individual artist or group must have released its first commercial recording a minimum of 25 years before the year of nomination. Inductees are voted in by the Hall’s 1,200 voting members, who are artists, historians and members of the music industry.
