SEPT 8: Remembering Benjamin Orr on His Birthday
Today we remember Benjamin Orr, born September 8, 1947. The legendary bassist, vocalist, and founding member of The Cars helped define the sound of rock in the late 1970s and 1980s.
With his unmistakable voice, Orr delivered some of The Cars’ most memorable songs, including the timeless classic “Drive,” as well as “Let’s Go,” “Just What I Needed,” and “Moving in Stereo.”
Benjamin Orr left us far too soon in 2000, but his music and unmistakable voice continue to resonate with fans around the world. Today, we celebrate his incredible talent and the lasting musical legacy he left behind.
Happy Birthday, Benjamin Orr. Your music still lives on.

SEPT 9: Happy Birthday, Dave Stewart!
Today we celebrate Dave Stewart, the talented songwriter, guitarist, producer, and musical visionary best known as one half of the iconic duo Eurythmics.
Alongside Annie Lennox, Stewart helped create some of the most memorable music of the 1980s, including unforgettable hits like “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” “Here Comes the Rain Again,” “Would I Lie to You?” and “There Must Be an Angel.”
Beyond Eurythmics, Stewart has enjoyed an impressive career as a songwriter, producer, and collaborator, working with some of the biggest names in music. His creative influence helped shape the sound of pop and rock for generations.
