AUG 3: Happy Birthday to James Hetfield! 

Today we celebrate the birthday of one of heavy metal's greatest frontmen, James Hetfield! Born on August 3, 1963, Hetfield helped change the face of rock music as the powerful voice, rhythm guitarist, and co-founder of Metallica. From crushing riffs to unforgettable lyrics, his influence on generations of musicians and fans is undeniable. 

Since Metallica burst onto the scene in the early 1980s, James has helped create legendary albums including Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, Metallica (The Black Album), and 72 Seasons. His commanding stage presence, relentless work ethic, and unmistakable vocal style have made him one of the most respected figures in rock history.

On his special day, let's celebrate a true metal icon whose music continues to inspire millions around the world. Happy Birthday, James Hetfield! May your year be filled with health, happiness, and many more unforgettable performances!

AUG 8:  Happy Birthday, Rikki Rockett!

Today we celebrate Rikki Rockett, the powerhouse drummer best known as a founding member of the legendary glam-metal band Poison! Born on August 8, 1961, Rikki has spent decades behind the kit helping create the larger-than-life sound and energy that defined one of rock’s biggest bands of the 1980s.

With his unmistakable playing style, wild stage presence, and seemingly endless energy, Rockett became an important part of Poison’s signature sound. Hits like “Talk Dirty to Me,” “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Nothin’ but a Good Time,” and “Unskinny Bop” helped make Poison one of the defining bands of the MTV era. 

From sold-out arenas to unforgettable music videos, Rikki Rockett has been there for some of the most memorable moments in hair-metal history. And yes, those drums have taken a serious beating over the years! 
So crank up some Poison, turn it up LOUD, and raise a toast to Rikki on his special day!  Happy Birthday, Rikki Rockett! May the beat—and the rock ’n’ roll—never stop!
