Just a couple of highlights from this week in music history!
OCT 7: Today in 1995, Alanis Morrissette was at the top of the U.S. album charts with one of the best-selling albums of all-time, Jagged Little Pill. The album has sold over 33 million copies worldwide and won five of the nine Grammys that it was nominated for in 1996!
SEPT 28: Today, rapper Coolio passed away at the age of 59. Coolio gained prominence with the theme song "Gangsta's Paradise" from the hit movie Dangerous Minds. The song would win Coolio a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. It was the #1 song of 1995 and the biggest-selling single of that year, selling 2.5M copies! He was a respected artist and producer. RIP Coolio
