JULY 7: Happy 80th birthday to Ringo Starr, born today in 1940! 🎂🥁 He co-founded his first band in 1957 and in 1962 was invited to join the Beatles. In addition to music, Ringo has acted in many films. Today, he continues to play with his Ringo Starr and Hiss All-Starr Band.

This Week In Music History July 5-11

JULY 10: Today in 1978, the Starland Vocal Band was at #1 with “Afternoon Delight”. The one hit wonders made the most of their moment and even won two Grammys - one for Best New Artist.
