RIAA 7x Multi-Platinum Award for the debut album from *NSYNC. Released on May 26, 1997, the album was certified 7x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA on June 21, 1999 for seven million copies sold.
The album that started it all for the group spawned hit singles "I Want You Back" and "Tearin' Up My Heart", which were first hits in Germany and Europe. The tracks later gained popularity in the U.S. and propelled their debut to #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, #4 in Canada, #1 in Germany and many high chart positions in numerous other world markets. By 2000 the debut was certified 10x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA, earning it a rare Diamond award.*

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA 7x Multi-Platinum Album award was manufactured in 1999, making it approximately 27 years old. It is presented to Gordon Richardson, who worked with NSYNC's team when he was part owner of a concert merchandise and retail licensing company. A letter of provenance from Richardson will be provided with purchase (see image).
The award is in VG to Excellent condition with only very minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. The presentation plate was revised with a new plate attached over the original utilizing a non-standard font, perhaps due to a spelling error. As a result, while the award is all original, it has been rebacked. These NSYNC awards were typically made by Ill-Eagle Enterprises, like this one for NSYNC album No Strings Attached that is also presented to Richardson.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
