The channel's first broadcast featured the iconic words, "Ladies and gentlemen, rock and roll," followed by The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star," a fitting beginning for a revolutionary new era.
MTV quickly became the ultimate destination for music lovers, introducing audiences to unforgettable videos from artists like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Duran Duran, Prince, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, and countless others.
