The week in music history brought to you by MusicGoldmine.com.

Just a couple of highlights from this week in music history!

AUG 16Today in 1977, Elvis Presley was found dead in his home.😢 The King became one of the most influential figures in music, not just for his singing, but for his style of performing and crossing over in different genres. RIP

AUG 17: Today in 1969, the festival of all festivals, Woodstock, was in the midst of its last night! 🎶🎸🎶🎤🎶 And, what a last night it was - CSN&Y, Joe Cocker, Country Joe and the Fish, Jimi Hendrix, and more performed until Monday morning.

AUG 21: Sadly, it has been reported that Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer.😢 He was the only remaining member of the band’s classic lineup. The drummer not only played with Quiet Riot, but W.A.S.P., Billy Idol, Faster Pussycat, and Steppenwolf. RIP
