Just a couple of highlights from this week in music history!

The Beatles

AUG 18: Today in 1962, Ringo Starr made his debut with the Beatles at a gig in Birkenhead, England! This is the quartet that would soon become known around the world: George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr.

Alex Lifeson Rush

AUG 27Happy birthday to Alex Lifeson of Rush, born today in 1953! Lifeson co-founded the band that would become Rush in 1968. The guitarist has also dabbled in other areas of the arts as a painter and actor. Until the bands dissolution in 2018, Lifeson was the only member of Rush to appear on all of the band's recordings. He continues to perform today. Photo courtesy: Adrian Buss [https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/deed.en]
