Latest Top 10 RIAA All-Time: Rumours Rises

Posted by James Duncan on

Fleetwood Mac's masterpiece Rumours has finally cracked the top 10. Cracked, literally, since it has finally overtaken Hootie & The Blowfish's clearly popular album Cracked Rear View, which held the tenth spot on the RIAA's top selling albums list for many years. The list only tallies sales made in the USA.

In other moves at this point heading into mid-2024, the venerable Garth Brooks (who has the most RIAA Diamond Awards, for 10 million copies sold, ever issued) moved up a spot to #8 with his Double Live album, displacing Pink Floyd opus The Wall, which swapped spots to #9.

Eagles continue to hold the top spot on the chart with their Eagles/Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 release at 38 million sold. That's 38x Multi-Platinum! Or put another way, a triple RIAA Diamond award winner plus 8x Multi-Platinum on top.

Sales figures don't necessarily denote the best but they are interesting to watch and no doubt, all of these albums deserve the spots they've earned in the top 10.
