RIAA 3x Multi-Platinum LP award for The Black Crowes' Shake Your Money Maker album. Released on Jan. 30, 1990, the album was certified 3x Multi-Platinum  on August 22, 1991 for 3 million copies sold which this large and impressive award celebrates. 

The release rose to #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, fueled by driven by a pair of Mainstream Rock Tracks chart #1s -- "Hard To Handle" and "She Talks To Angels". The album, which went on to be certified 5x Multi-Platinum by 1995, launched the group's career, a multi-album/tour trajectory that included recording a live project with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, among other highlights. See image above for all the RIAA sales certifications of this album through the years*.

Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA 3x Multi-Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 1991 making this award 29 years old. Large and impressive, this award is presented to FMQB Album Report (Friday Morning Quarterback), which was a major radio industry promotion/tip sheet that helped radio stations pick hits to play on their stations. Owned by Kal Rudman, it was a major key to success for many artists. 

All components appear original and unaltered with original Dejay Products manufacturer sticker present. The award is in VG to Excellent condition for a 29 year old award, with only some minor mars on the frame and plexiglas and minor mottling of the album labels.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
