RIAA Platinum Album Award for Radiohead's OK Computer album. Released on July 1, 1997 the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA on May 6, 1998 for one million copies sold.

Singles "Paranoid Android", "Karma Police", "Lucky", and "No Surprises" drove the extremely well-received album to #1 on the UK Albums Chart and #21 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. The release was nominated for Album of the Year and won Best Alternative Music Album at the 1998 Grammy awards and it was also nominated for Best British Album at the 1998 Brit Awards. By 2003 the album had gone to 2x Multi-Platinum. See image above for all RIAA sales certifications of this album*.

Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 1998. This award is presented to Jonathan Lev, a promotions and marketing executive who worked with rock, pop and alternative artists including Radiohead, Interpol, Luscious Jackson, Sevendust, Coldplay, Blur, Green Day, Nirvana, U2, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more.

The award is in completely original condition including back with manufacturer's sticker from Jewel Box Platinum. In Excellent condition with only very minor mars on the frame and plexiglass.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
