RIAA Gold album award for Primus album Pork Soda. Released on April 20, 1993, was certified Gold by the RIAA on Sept. 24, 1993 and Platinum in Spring 1997 for 1 million copies sold.

The album included single "My Name Is Mud" which went top 10 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and the album rose as high as #7 on the Top 200 Albums chart.

Detailed Item Description: This is an official RIAA Gold award for Primus album Pork SodaIt is presented to Interscope Records co-founder Ted Field.

It was produced around 1993 making this award approx. 30 years old. The award appears to be all original internal components included unopened back with Fitzgerald Hartley manufacturer's label. It appears to be in VG condition.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
