Emerging in the 1970s after singing background vocals on Neil Young albums, Larson covered the Young-penned "Lotta Love" and it became her debut hit single, topping the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart and slotting at #8 on the Hot 100. The album went to #1 in Canada and helped launch Larson's career there and in the U.S. Interesting trivia: The album was produced by Ted Templeman, best known for his work with Van Halen and, in fact, Eddie Van Halen played guitar (uncredited) on the track "Can't Get Away From You", and Larson lent background vocals to Van Halen on a track on their 1980 Women And Children First LP.

Detailed Item Description: This is a RIAA Gold album award from 1979, making it 47 years old. It is presented to legendary recording engineer Donn Landee who is credited on the LP label. Landee is also forever tied to VH history, having engineered the first eight Van Halen albums from the 1978 debut to 1988's OU812. He also engineered many albums by other artists including The Doobie Brothers, Little Feat, Michael McDonald, Montrose, James Taylor, Van Morrison, Neil Young, and more.
It is VG condition with only typical frame wear. Its' backing paper is original and while the manufacturer sticker is missing, there is adhesive residue in the size, shape and location consistent with a New York Frame & Picture Co. sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
