RIAA 8x Multi-Platinum™ Award for Michael Jackson's #1 album Bad, which was released on August 31, 1987. The album was certified 8x Multi-Platinum™ by the RIAA on Sept. 29, 1994 for 8 million copies sold, which this award celebrates.
The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, the UK Albums chart and a dozen other countries. It produced five #1 singles including title track "Bad", "Man In The Mirror", "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", "The Way You Make Me Feel" and "Dirty Diana". The release was also nominated for six Grammy Awards, winning two. By 2017 the album had sold over 10 million copies in the U.S. and was certified Diamond by the RIAA. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Multi-Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured sometime around 1998 making this award approximately 21 years old. This award was given to an industry executive and his signed and notarized letter of provenance will provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.
This award has a replaced backing paper and hanger, however the existence of the original frame and all correct internal components and serial number hologram indicates an original award. This award is in excellent condition with only a very minor mar or two on the frame.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear.
