RIAA Platinum Album Award for Maroon 5's debut studio album Songs About Jane, which was released on June 25, 2002. It was certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold on Feb. 12, 2004.
Hit singles "Harder to Breathe", "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved" drove the album to great success. The album topped the Australian, French, Irish, UK and other world album charts and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. By mid-2005 the album had been certified 4x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for four million in sales in the U.S.*

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum Album award was manufactured in 2004, making it approximately 22 years old. It is presented to Vince Richards, who was an on-air personality at numerous rock stations and is now a radio programming executive. A letter of provenance from Richards will be provided with purchase (see image).
The award is in Excellent condition, with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglass. It is all original with Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
