This DVD box set contained tracks from the July 13, 1985 Live Aid benefit concert's incredible line up that included (many of which are printed on the plexi of the award): Boy George, Status Quo, The Style Council, The Boomtown Rats, Adam Ant, Ultravox, Spandau Ballet, Elvis Costello, Nik Kershaw, Sade, Sting, Phil Collins, Howard Jones, Bryan Ferry, Paul Young, Alison Moyet, Bryan Adams, U2, The Beach Boys, Dire Straits, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, Queen, Simple Minds, David Bowie, Joan Baez, The Pretenders, The Who, Kenny Loggins, Elton John, Kiki Dee, George Michael, Madonna, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, REO Speedwagon, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Judas Priest, The Cars, Neil Young, Thompson Twins, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, Patti Labelle, Daryl Hall & John Oates– Maneater, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, INXS, B.B. King, Ashford & Simpson, Teddy Pendergrass, Run-DMC, and Cliff Richard. There were some other artists whose performances were left off the DVD box set for one reason or another (by request, rights issues, etc.), including Led Zeppelin, Santana, Rick Springfield, the Four Tops, the Hooters, Power Station, Billy Ocean and Kool and the Gang.

One especially notable moment (of quite a few to be fair) was Queen's performance, which was referred to as "the greatest live performance in the history of rock" in a 2005 industry poll by the BBC of over 60 artists, music industry executives and journalists. See image above for the RIAA sales certification data of this DVD release*.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.

Finally, a word on photos: Our photos are zoomable so you can get a very good look. Do let us know if you want photos of any other details on our pieces and we'll be happy to provide.
