RIAA Gold Album Award for Kenny Rogers album She Rides Wild Horses. This album was released on May 11, 1999 and later that year on Sept. 28 it was certified Gold by the RIAA for 500,000 sold. Remember Kenny Rogers (1938-2020) with this award.

The album contained "The Greatest," "Slow Dance More" and "Buy Me a Rose," the latter of which hit #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. "Buy Me A Rose" featured background vocals from Allison Kraus and Billy Dean. The album itself reached #60 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, #6 on the Country Album chart and also did well in Canada. By 2000 the release was certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold*.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum award was manufactured in 1993, making it 32 years old. It is presented to well-known radio personality and executive Scott Shannon, who was on air at WPLJ, KQLZ Pirate Radio Los Angeles, Z100 New York and many other stations. A letter of provenance from Shannon will be provided with purchase (see image) .

This award is in Excellent condition. It is all original with The Rite Angle manufacturer sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
