This is a program from Beatlefest in 1981 autographed by Harry Nilsson (1941-1994) who appeared at this Beatles fan fest that took place in Los Angeles Nov. 28-29, 1981. Nilsson became popular with Beatles fans both on the strength of his music, which included the hits "Without You" and "Everybody's Talkin'", and because when the Beatles were asked at a 1968 press conference who their favorite American group was they answered "Nilsson". From that point on Nilsson, who also was a two-time Grammy award winner, was at times referred to as "the American Beatle" and he became good friends with John Lennon and Ringo Starr.
Nilsson adds to this hand-signed autograph "To Mike" and the signature is authenticated by Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) with the Letter of Authenticity included. Pay tribute to Nilsson with this nice piece of memorabilia.
The program itself is also quite interesting with the 1981 vintage Beatle fest events and guests who included Paul McCartney's brother Michael McCartney (then known professionally as Mike McGear) , who had just released a book. The numbered Beckett authentication sticker is applied within the booklet to the back side of the signed page.
Don't be fooled by other "signed" items on the Internet or in stores. Ask to see a COA/LOA from top authenticators like JSA (James Spence Authentication), PSA/DNA, Beckett, or REAL (Epperson). You'll find that most sellers won't be able to provide this.
