Guns N' Roses RIAA 3x Multi-Platinum combo album award for Use Your Illusion I & Use Your Illusion II, which were released jointly on Sept. 17, 1991. The albums were certified 3x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for three million copies sold on Jan. 7, 1992 and Dec. 2, 1991, respectively.*

Illusion I contributed "November Rain", "Don't Cry" and a roaring version of  Paul McCartney & Wings "Live And Let Die" to the list of classic GNR tracks Illusion II featured "Civil War", "You Could Be Mine", a cover of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' On Heaven's Door", and the epic "Estranged". The albums hit #2 and #1 respectively on both the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and UK chart, and landed in the top 10 in many other markets worldwide. Use Your Illusion I also picked up a Grammy award nomination for "Live And Let Die". By 1997 both albums had reached RIAA certified sales of over seven million*.

Detailed Item Description: This is a dual album RIAA Platinum award that would have been manufactured after 1992, making it approx. 33 years old. Its' most unique feature is the great GNR logo and unique "blood dripping down" graphics, along with two platinum LPs and album miniatures. It is presented to Marko (Marco) Soccoli, who was a drummer and Director of Artist Relations for musical instrument/gear manufacturers Vic Firth, D'Addario, Evans, Promark, Sonor, Mapex, and others.

This award is in really VG condition with only minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. It has its' original backing paper with manufacturer sticker from Fitzgerald Hartley. An updated hanger has been installed.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
