RIAA 4x Multi-Platinum award for Genesis 1983 self-titled album presented to Genesis, autographed by Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford. Released on Oct. 7, 1983 the album was certified 4x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA on June 12, 1996.*

The group's ninth album helped establish them as superstars in North America. It featured the singles "Mama", "That's All", "Home by the Sea", "Illegal Alien", and "Taking It All Too Hard". The album was a worldwide success that reached #1 on the UK, German and Finnish albums charts and #9 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums tally. It also did very well in most other major music markets worldwide and picked up a pair of Grammy award nominations. This award is #59 of only 75 of these autographed RIAA awards issued to celebrate the album's success.

Detailed Item Description: This is a special RIAA 4x Multi-Platinum award that was manufactured sometime after 1998. The award is presented to Genesis and signed by all three members of the group as detailed above.

The award is in VG condition with minor mars on the frame and plexiglass, and very slight disc finish degradation around the lower left side of the record label. It is all original with Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker and numbered Certificate of Authenticity (see images).

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
