RIAA Platinum Album award for Don Henley album Building The Perfect Beast. Released on Nov. 19, 1984, the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA on April 9, 1985 for one million copies sold.

Henley's second solo album contained the hits "The Boys Of Summer" (which won Henley a Grammy award and four MTV awards), "All She Wants to Do Is Dance", "Not Enough Love in the World", and "Sunset Grill". It featured a who's who of guest musicians including members of Tom Petty's band and Toto, among many others. The album reached #13 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart, #14 in the UK, #17 in Canada, #4 in Australia and it also charted in numerous other countries. By 1995 the album was certified 3x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for three million copies sold.*

Detailed Item Description: This is a RIAA Platinum Album award that would have been manufactured in 1986, making it approx. 39 years old. It is presented to Michael Huber, a technical support person who is thanked in the album notes and who also worked with Joe Walsh and others.

This award is in VG condition with only minor wear on the frame and mars on the plexiglass. The award was rebacked with an original Dejay Products manufacturer label reapplied prior to us acquiring.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
