RIAA Platinum Album Award for Coldplay's debut studio album Parachutes, which was released on Nov. 14, 2000. The release was certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold on Jan. 8, 2002.
Hit singles "Shiver", "Trouble", "Don't Panic" and "Yellow" all charted with the latter rising to #6 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart and #4 on the UK Singles chart. The album topped the UK Album chart and peaked at #51 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart while winning the group a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2002 and Best British Album at the 2001 Brit Awards. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum album award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 2002 making it approximately 20 years old. It is presented to Max Miller, a radio industry executive.
The award is all original with Jewel Box Platinum manufacturer's sticker on its back. The award is in VG to Excellent condition, with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglass, and slight lifting of the album miniature..

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear.
