RIAA 5x Multi-Platinum Album Award for Bon Jovi album New Jersey. Released on Sept. 19, 1988m the album was certified 5x Multi-Platinum for five million copies sold by the RIAA on May 25, 1989.

The band's fourth studio album was a success with heavy radio airplay for “Bad Medicine”, “Lay Your Hands On Me”, and “Born To Be My Baby”. The album topped the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and also on the album sales tallies in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK, while charting highly in many other markets. By 1996 the album was certified 7x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for seven million copies sold in the U.S. alone and it also has gone multi-platinum in numerous other world markets.*

Detailed Item Description: This is a RIAA 5x Multi-Platinum Album award that would have been manufactured in 1990, making it approx. 36 years old. It is presented to Chris Lopes, who was most recently Executive Vice President of Promotion at Interscope.

The award is in Very Good condition with only very minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. The award is all original but has been rebacked.

Notes on the condition of all vintage record awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
