RIAA Platinum Award for Billy Idol album Charmed Life. Released on April 23, 1990 it was certified Platinum by the RIAA on Oct. 2, 1990 for one million copies sold.*

Idol's fourth album contained the singles "Cradle of Love", which appeared as part of the soundtrack of The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. Its music video won the 1990 MTV Video Music Award for "Best Video From A Film". A cover of The Doors "L.A. Woman" also gained some airplay. The album reached #11 on the Billboard 200 charts and top chart spots in many other countries including the UK, Canada, Germany, and others.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award would have been manufactured in 1990, making it 34 years old. It is presented to well-known radio personality and executive Scott Shannon from KQLZ Pirate Radio Los Angeles, Z100 New York and many other stations. A letter of provenance from Shannon will be provided with purchase as seen in images.

The award is in VG to Excellent condition with very minor frame wear and a few mars on the plexiglass. This award is all original with Ill Eagle manufacturer sticker.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
