The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour 1968 Grammy Album Of The Year Nomination Plaque presented to The Beatles. The album was released in conjunction with their film on Nov. 27, 1967 and went to #1 in the U.S. and charting worldwide. Completely loaded with Beatles classics from the title track to "Fool On The Hill", "I Am The Walrus" and "Hello, Goodbye". Also included on the album were recently released non-album singles including "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Penny Lane", "Baby, You're a Rich Man", and "All You Need Is Love".
At the Grammy Awards for the 1968-69 cycle the album was nominated for Album Of The Year and this plaque, presented to the group themselves, recognizes this honor. This nomination was the Fab 4's fourth consecutive year being nominated for Album Of The Year. Their only win for Album Of The Year turned out to be for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band the year prior.
Dated 1968, the plaque is in Excellent condition. It has been closely examined by an expert intimately familiar with Grammy Award plaques and memorabilia and it is completely authentic. Don't miss this spectacular piece of music history, presented to the Beatles themselves.

Notes on the condition of all vintage awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
Finally, a word on photos: Our photos are zoomable so you can get a very good look. Do let us know if you want photos of any other details on our pieces and we'll be happy to provide.
