RIAA Gold LP award for the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers, which was released in April 23, 1971 and certified Gold by the RIAA on May 11, 1971 for $1 million worth sold.
The album became the Stones first to reach #1 on both the Billboard U.S. and U.K. album charts. It included the classics "Brown Sugar," "Dead Flowers", "Wild Horses", and "Can't You Hear Me Knocking". The album is in the Grammy Hall of Fame and on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. It also was the first to feature the iconic tongue and lips logo of Rolling Stones Records, originally designed in 1970 by John Pasche. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold white matte LP award is presented to Atlantic Records, distributor of the group's newly launched Rolling Stones Records label. This is a first presentation award made in 1971, making this award 51 years old.
This award is in Very Good condition, considering its age. There are a few mars and scratches on the wood frame and a few tears in the backing paper as is expected. It still, however, features its original backing paper with New York Frame & Picture Co. manufacturer sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
