RIAA Gold Award for Jessica Simpson album Sweet KissesThe album, Simpson's debut, came out on Nov. 23, 1999. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA a month later on December 22, 1999 for 500,000 copies sold. 

The album produced three singles: "I Wanna Love You Forever", which became her biggest U.S. hit, a duet with future husband Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees ,"Where You Are", and dance track "I Think I'm in Love With You". Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1999 making it approximately 22 years old. This award is presented to Blue Wave Productions, one of the studios at which the album was recorded. The studio is owned by Tom Lavin, who is also the founder and leader of Juno Award-winning Powder Blues Band. The award comes with Lavin's signed letter of provenance. Provenance letter can be seen in images.

The award is all original with a serial number RIAA hologram seal and unopened backing paper with Dejay Productions manufacturer's stickers. It is in VG to Excellent condition with only a very few minor mars on the frame.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
