RIAA 10x Multi-Platinum™ Award for Eric Clapton's solo album Unplugged, which was released on August 25, 1992. The album is to date the most successful of Clapton's career and was certified 10x Multi-Platinum™ by the RIAA on May 16, 1996 for 10 million copies sold, thus achieving rare Diamond sales status.
Filmed as an "MTV Unplugged" in front of a small audience in Windsor, England on Jan. 16, 1992, the resulting album went on to win six Grammy Awards in 1993 including Album Of The Year. The album also went to #1 on the Billboard 200 and many other countries. Highlight tracks included the heartfelt "Tears In Heaven" and a relaxed, languid version of famous hit "Layla". Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Multi-Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1998 making this award approximately 21 years old. This award was given to an industry executive and his signed and notarized letter of provenance will provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.
This award has its original backing paper and Ill-Eagle manufacturer's label, all correct internal components and serial number hologram. This award is in excellent condition with only a very minor mar or two on the frame.
