RIAA Gold Single award for England Dan and John Ford Coley "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight", which was released in May 1976 and certified Gold by the RIAA on Oct. 12, 1976 for 500,000 copies sold.
This hit track appeared on the duo's 1976 album Nights Are Forever. In 1976 the tune reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (right behind Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music"). It also hit #1 on the Easy Listening chart and peaked at #26 in the U.K. "England Dan" would later go on to record solo with mostly country material as Dan Seals, and Coley also recorded with other groups.

Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA Gold award that would have been manufactured in 1976 making it about 46 years old. It is presented to Guy Paul. It is not known what role Paul played in the creation or promotion of the record.
The award is in Good condition with all original components. Its' frame has some quite significant finish loss, and minor mars on the plexiglass, but otherwise the record label (great artwork!) and remainder of award are in great shape. It also has what appears to be original backing paper with Creative Glassics manufacturer label.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
