Brand new, sealed in original plastic RIAA Platinum award for Third Eye Blind's debut and also featuring the three hit singles from the release: "Semi-Charmed Life", "Jumper" and "How's It Going To Be". The album was released on March 26, 1997 and was certified 6x Multi-Platinum by 2001 by the RIAA. Unusual award with rare blank presentation plate, indicating it is likely a prototype given backing paper note.

While the album only rose to #25 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, it stayed on the charts for 106 weeks and spawned the three top ten Billboard Hot 100 hit singles shown in the award. "Semi-Charmed Life"  went to #4, "Jumper"  to #5, and "How's It Going To Be" to #9. See image above for all the RIAA sales certifications of this album through the years*.

Detailed Item Description: This is a new, sealed in plastic RIAA Platinum award that would have been manufactured sometime after 1998. The award contains three CDs, a platinum record disc and artwork celebrating  Third Eye Blind's 6x Multi-Platinum eponymous debut album.  It is a very rare award in that the presentation plate has not been engraved and remains blank.

The award has a RIAA serial number hologram and Ill-Eagle manufacturer's sticker on the back. The original Ill-Eagle advisory card is also contained inside the plastic on the rear. Note that all photos are taken with the new plastic seal intact so images are somewhat distorted.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.

Finally, a word on photos: Our photos are zoomable so you can get a very good look. Do let us know if you want photos of any other details on our pieces and we'll be happy to provide.
