RIAA Gold LP award for Santana's Amigos album which was released on March 26, 1976. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on June 11, 1976 for 500,000 copies sold.
The album became Carlos Santana and group's first top ten Billboard chart album since 1972's Caravanserai, peaking at #10. Single "Let It Shine" hit #77 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song "Europa" became a top 10 hit in several countries in Europe and the album also went Gold in Canada and Silver in the UK.

Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA Gold award that would have been manufactured sometime in 1976, since this "floater" style award was produced from 1975-81. This makes this one of the earlier floaters made and the award 45 years old.
The award is presented to producer David Rubinson, who produced the album and who also worked with Herbie Hancock, Patti LaBelle, Moby Grape, Taj Mahal, The Pointer Sisters and many more.
This award is in VG condition, with some wear to the frame, minor matte fading and a few typical tears on the backing paper. The gold disc, album miniature and presentation plate are in Excellent condition. The award has its original backing paper and New York Frame & Picture Co. manufacturer label.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear.
