REO Speedwagon RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum album award for You Can Tune A Piano But You Can't Tuna Fish. The album, which was released on Jan. 30, 1978, was certified 2x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA on Oct. 25, 1990 for two million copies sold. Remember original REO guitarist Gary Richrath (1949-2015) with this award.
The group's seventh studio album, it became their first to break into the top 40 of the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, peaking at #29. It was fueled by the classic REO hits "Time for Me to Fly" and "Roll with the Changes", which went to #56 and #58 respectively on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum album award that would have been manufactured in 1990, making this award approx. 32 years old. It is presented to John Boylan, who was a co-producer on the album, and who also worked with Boston, Charlie Daniels, and Little River Band.
This award is in Excellent original condition with only very minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. It has its original Creative Glassics sticker on the backing paper.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
