RIAA Platinum LP award for Ratt album Out Of The Cellar. The group's debut, the album was released on Feb. 17, 1984, it was certified Platinum by the RIAA on Aug. 6, 1984 for one million copies sold. Remember Ratt's Robbin Crosby (1959-2002) with this award.
"Round and Round" was an immediate hit on radio and MTV, hitting #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and "Wanted Man" also charted, at #87. The album reached #7 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and #12 in Canada. By 1991 the album had been certified 3x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA. Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 1984 making it approx. 38 years old. The award is presented to then Atlantic records executive Judy Libow, who started in radio and worked at Atlantic Records for 16 years, much of the time as VP of Radio Promotion.
The award is in VG condition with only minor frame wear and mars on the plexiglass. The backing paper is original with New York Frame & Picture Co. manufacturer label.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
