RIAA Platinum LP award for Mötley Crüe debut album Too Fast For Love. Released on Aug. 20, 1982, the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA on July 22, 1987 for one million copies sold.
"Stick to Your Guns" and "Live Wire" were released as singles with the latter track reaching #24 on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The album reached #77 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart. While not initially that successful, their debut put them on a fast track to success and it has since been added to many best of lists, such as ranking #1 on Ultimate Classic Rock's Top 30 Glam Metal Albums. Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 1987 making it approx. 35 years old. It is presented Kenny Hamlin, who was GM of Elektra Records at the time.
The award is in VG condition with only a minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. The backing paper is original with Fitzgerald Hartley manufacturer sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
