RIAA Platinum Album award for Lita Ford's album Lita. This album was released on Feb. 2, 1988 and was certified Platinum on June 9, 1989 for one million copies sold.
The album, the third for the former Runaways lead guitarist, featured the hits "Close My Eyes Forever", a duet with Ozzy Osbourne which hit #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "Kiss Me Deadly" which peaked at #12. Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 1990 making it 32 years old. The award is presented to A&R executive and original Zombies guitarist Paul Atkinson (1946-2004). Atkinson was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 as a member of the Zombies and in addition to Ford also worked with Elton John, ABBA, Mr. Mister, Judas Priest and others.
This award is all original with Fitzgerald Hartley manufacturer's sticker. The award is in Excellent condition with only minor wear on the frame and a few mars on the plexiglass.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
