RIAA Gold Award for KT Tunstall album Eye To The Telescope. Released on Feb. 7, 2005 (in the U.S.) and it was certified Gold by the RIAA on April 28, 2006 for 500,000 copies sold.

The debut for Tunstall produced the singles "Other Side of the World", "Suddenly I See" (probably the best known track in the U.S., having reached #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart), "Under the Weather", and "Another Place to Fall". The album itself reached #33 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and #3 on the UK Top Albums tally. It was also nominated for the UK's 2005 Mercury Music Prize. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 2006 making it about 18 years old. It is presented to a former marketing and promotion executive who worked at EMI Capitol Records. Their name has been obscured in the photos only for privacy. A letter of provenance from the recipient will be provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.

The award has a very nice distressed wood frame and is in Excellent condition with only very, very minor frame wear and mars on the plexiglass. It is all original with Jewel Box Platinum manufacturer sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
