RIAA Platinum Album Award for John Legend album Get Lifted. The album was released on Dec. 28, 2004 and was certified Platinum by the RIAA on Feb. 10, 2005.
The album, Legend's debut, featured the hits "Used to Love U", "Number One", "So High", and "Ordinary People", the latter of which earned a Grammy award in 2006. Legend also won the Best New Artist and Best R&B Album Grammy awards. The album itself peaked at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #12 in the UK. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 2005, making it about 18 years old. It represents the first major success for Legend and is presented to Leah Horwitz, a long time music-related television producer and executive.
This award is in VG to Excellent condition with only very minor mars on the plexiglass and frame. It is all original with Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer's sticker.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
