RIAA Gold Album Award for the John Forgerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival album The Long Road Home: The Ultimate John Fogerty/Creedence Collection. Released on Nov. 1, 2005, the album was certified Gold on Feb. 14, 2006. This is a very unique award with actual guitar strings and wood guitar bridge built into its' low profile shadow box design.
The album itself contained 25 hits from Fogerty's prodigious career both as leader of CCR and a solo artist including classics such as "Proud Mary", "Fortunate Son", "Born On The Bayou" "Bad Moon Rising", "Who'll Stop The Rain" and many more. The album peaked at #13 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 2007 making this award approximately 12 years old. It is one of the more unique official RIAA awards we've seen with its "guitar neck" design. This award was given to late music industry attorney Gerald Margolis.
It is all original with unopened backing paper, Ill-Eagle Enterprises manufacturer's sticker and all correct components. This award is in excellent condition, with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglas. The guitar strings are very slightly askew at the top of the guitar neck "bridge" but this is best corrected by adjusting at the rear of the award prior to hanging for display.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one:Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
