RIAA Platinum Award for Jimmy Eat World album Bleed American. Released on July 17, 2001, the album went Platinum for one million copies sold on Aug. 7, 2002, which this award celebrates. The album was understandably re-released with the title revised to simply Jimmy Eat World following the September 11 attacks which took place seven weeks after its initial release. 

Singles "Bleed American", "The Middle", "Sweetness", and "A Praise Chorus" all hit the Top 20 of a Billboard chart with "The Middle" reaching #1on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and #5 on the Hot 100. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured sometime in 2000 making this award approximately 21 years old. This award is presented to Jonathan Lev, a promotions and marketing executive who worked with rock, pop and alternative artists including Jimmy Eat World, Green Day, A Perfect Circle, Godsmack, Incubus, Nirvana, U2, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more.

The award is all original with Jewel Box Platinum manufacturer's sticker on its back. This award is in VG to Excellent condition, with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglass.

Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear.
