RIAA Gold LP "white matte" award for the Jimi Hendrix Experience album Axis: Bold As Love. The album was released in January 1, 1968 and was certified Gold by the RIAA on October 10, 1968 for one million dollars worth sold.
The album contained the classic Hendrix tracks "Spanish Castle Magic" and "Little Wing" and was one of only three studio albums Hendrix and the group ever made. The album reached #3 on the U.S. Billboard Top LPs chart and #5 on the UK albums tally. By 1986 it was certified Platinum for one million copies sold by the RIAA. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold LP award was made in 1968, making it about 56 years old. The award is presented to Warner Bros. Records (Warner Bros. bought Reprise Records, the record's label, in 1963 so effectively it was the parent company).
This award is in Very Good condition, especially considering its age. There are a few mars and scratches on the wood frame as is expected. Its backing paper also features an original New York Frame & Picture Co. manufacturer sticker.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear.
