Guns N' Roses Geffen Records "11x Platinum" combo album award for Appetite For Destruction and GN'R Lies. Appetite was released on July 21, 1987 and GN'R Lies on Nov. 30, 1988. This award displays 8 CDs of Appetite, representing the then total of eight million sold, and 3 CDs of Lies, representing three million sold. The success of both albums kept going, with the former by 2008 RIAA-certified at 18 million copies sold, and the at five million by 1995. (Note: This is not a RIAA award).

Appetite topped the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and became the seventh best-selling debut album of all time in the U.S. "Welcome To The Jungle", "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Paradise City" all became massive hits. GN'R Lies contributed "Patience" to the band's impressive catalog.

Detailed Item Description: This is a large and impressive Geffen Records label award presented to record retailing executive Joe Bressi. Its' internals are original but it has been reframed with museum quality UV protective glass. Note that it is not a new reproduction, its' internals are from an original 1989-90 era award. The award is in Excellent condition overall.

Notes on the condition of all vintage record awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
