The album features the tracks found on film character Peter Quill's mix tape. Loaded with nostalgia, it includes classic tunes from 10cc, David Bowie, Marvin Gaye, Norman Greenbaum, the Five Stairsteps, the Raspberries, the Jackson 5, The Runaways and more. The album peaked at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and became the first ever soundtrack album consisting entirely of previously released songs to hit #1. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 2015 making this award approximately 7 years old. This award is presented to Will Kaplan, who was the music editor for the soundtrack.
The award is in new, never opened condition with its' original corner wraps still attached and Jewel Box Platinum manufacturer sticker on its backing paper.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
