RIAA Platinum Album award for the debut self-titled album from Bad English. It was released on June 26, 1989 and certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold on Mar. 2, 1990.
This supergroup brought together John Waite, Jonathan Cain, and Ricky Phillips from The Babys (and in Cain's case, also Journey) and Neal Schon and Deen Castronovo of Journey, hit big with "When I See You Smile", which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other singles included "Price of Love" and "Possession", both of which landed in the top 40. The album went to #21 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #74 in the UK. Detailed Item Description: This is a RIAA Gold album award that would have been manufactured in 1990, making it approx. 33 years old. It is presented to well-known radio personality and executive Scott Shannon from KQLZ Pirate Radio Los Angeles, Z100 New York and many other stations. A letter of provenance from Shannon will be provided with purchase as seen in images.
The award is in Excellent condition. The award has its original backing paper with sticker from Fitzgerald Hartley.

Notes on the condition of all vintage record awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
