RIAA Platinum Album Award for the Aaliyah album Age Ain't Nothin' But A Number. The album was released on May 24, 1994 and certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold on Sept. 1, 1994. Remember Aaliyah (1979-2001) with this award.
Aaliyah's debut album included the singles "Back & Forth" and a cover of the Isley Brothers hit "(At Your Best) You Are Love". Both reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100. The album peaked at #18 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and also did well in Canada, Japan, the UK, and several European countries. By 2001 the album was certified 2x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for two million copies sold.*

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum Album award was made in 1994, making it about 31 years old. It is presented to a The Hit Factory® Mastering, the studio facility in New York City where the album was mastered.
The award is in VG condition with only very minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. It is all original with Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker. The numbered sticker on the back of the award is an inventory number from the recording studio, mastering facility or other.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear.
