RIAA 3x Multi-Platinum Album award for 3 Doors Down album Away From The Sun. Released on Nov. 12, 2002, the album was certified 3x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA on Jan. 14, 2004 for three million copies sold.
The second album from the group produced the singles "When I'm Gone", which reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Modern Rock chart, "The Road I'm On", "Here Without You", and the title track. The album reached #8 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and also charted in many other countries. By 2006 the album was certified 4x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for four million copies sold. Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA 3x Multi-Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 2004 making it approx. 20 years old. It is presented to a former radio program director. Their name has been obscured only in the photos for privacy. A letter of provenance from the recipient will be provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.
This award is in VG condition with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglass. It also has its' original Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker on its' back.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
