RIAA 6x Multi-Platinum Award for Sarah McLachlan album Surfacing. Released on July 15, 1997, the album went 6x Multi-Platinum for six million copies sold on April 28, 1999 which this award celebrates. 

McLachlan's fourth album became a major hit for her, and featured "Building a Mystery" (#1 on the Billboard Adult Alternative Contemporary chart), "Sweet Surrender", "Adia", and "Angel". The album garnered McLachlan four Juno awards including Album Of The Year, and two Grammy award wins. The album reached #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, #1 in Canada and charted in many other countries. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA 6x Multi-Platinum award was manufactured in 1999 making it approximately 25 years old. It is presented to a former radio program director. Their name has been obscured only in the photos for privacy. A letter of provenance from the recipient will be provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.

This award is brand new in its' original shrink wrap and is complete with Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker on its back.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
