RIAA Gold Album Award for the P.M. Dawn album Of The Heart, Of The Soul and of the Cross: The Utopian Experience. Released on Sept. 24, 1991 it was certified Gold by the RIAA for 500,000 copies sold later that year on Dec. 19. Remember P.M. Dawn lead vocalist and songwriter Attrell "Prince Be" Cordes (1970-2016) with this award.
The duo, composed of brothers Attrell and Jarett Cordes, made an immediate impact with their track "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss" from this album. The track topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and powered the album to #48 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, #8 on the UK chart, and it charted in several other countries as well. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold Album award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1991, making it approx. 33 years old. It is presented to a former radio program director. Their name has been obscured only in the photos for privacy. A letter of provenance from the recipient will be provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.
This award is in VG condition with only minor mars on the plexiglass and frame. It is all original with unopened backing paper and a Fitzgerald Hartley manufacturer sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
