RIAA Gold LP award for Chaka Khan album Chaka, which was released on Oct. 12, 1978. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on Nov. 14, 1978 for 500,000 copies sold.
The album included Khan's cover of the Ashford & Simpson tune "I'm Every Woman", which became a signature hit and #1 Billboard R&B chart topper. Other hits included "Roll Me Through The Rushes" and the Stevie Wonder-penned "I Was Made To Love Him." Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 1978. That makes it around 46 years old. It is presented to artist manager Burt Zell, who managed Khan along with other artists including The Pointer Sisters.
This award is in VG condition with only some minor wear to the frame and plexiglass. This is an award made by an unknown manufacturer.
