RIAA Gold LP white matte award for the Rolling Stones Between The Buttons presented to Mick Jagger. This album was released on January 20, 1967 and quickly certified Gold by the RIAA on Feb. 24, 1967 for $1 million worth sold.

The album that brought the world the Stones classics "Ruby Tuesday" and "Let's Spend The Night Together", became one of the group's most highly acclaimed albums and one of the last to feature Brian Jones, whose untimely death occurred in mid-1969. Jones, who had previously mainly played guitar on Stones recordings, expanded his range by contributing parts on organ, marimba, vibraphone, and kazoo. The album reached #2 on the Billboard Top LPs chart and #3 on the U.K. Top Albums chart. See image above for the RIAA sales certification of this album*.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold LP white matte award would have been made in 1967 given the album's certification date and the fact that it has a Fulton St. New York Frame & Picture Co. (NYF&P Co. moved from 141 Fulton St. to 29 John St. in mid-1969). The award's most spectacular feature is undoubtedly that it is presented to Stones co-founder, co-songwriter and lead vocalist Mick Jagger.

The award is approx. 56 years old yet is in VG condition, especially considering its age. There are some typical but minor scratches on the frame and the matte has a couple of small spots. The backing paper is original and although it has been taped on three sides its' original New York Frame & Picture Co. sticker is still present.

Don't miss this is a rare opportunity to acquire a coveted all-original RIAA white matte award for one of the Rolling Stones classic early releases, complete with presentation to the legendary Mick Jagger himself.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.

Finally, a word on photos: Our photos are zoomable so you can get a very good look. Do let us know if you want photos of any other details on our pieces and we'll be happy to provide.
